On the evening of Wednesday, May 23rd, Astraea Executive Director, J. Bob Alotta will join in conversation with other leaders in philanthropy to discuss current trends in the gender justice movement. J. Bob Alotta will join Alison Bernstein, Executive Director of the Institute for Women’s Leadership at Rutgers University, Jessica Stern, Director of Programs of International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHR) and Rashid Shabazz, Program Officer at the Soros Foundations. About the speakers:
Carol Jenkins, moderator of the talk, is a writer and producer. Jenkins is an Emmy award winning former television anchor and correspondent, well known for her tenure with WNBC-TV in New York. She is Founding President of the Women’s Media Center, a nonprofit advocacy organizations founded in 2004 to make women visible and powerful in the media.
J. Bob Alotta is the Executive Director of the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice. Read her bio

Alison Bernstein is the Director of the Institute for Women’s Leadership at Rutgers University. She is the former Vice President for the Knowledge, Creativity and Freedom Program at the Ford Foundation and former Camille and William Cosby Visiting Professor at Spelman College.
Rashid Shabazz is a Program Officer at the Soros Foundations.
Jessica Stern is the Director of Programs at International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission.
